In a remarkable stride toward educational development, the One Love Salone Foundation officially commissioned a modern three-classroom school building in Zimmi Town, Makpele

Chiefdom, Pujehun District. Valued in the millions of Leones, the facility was formally handed over to the pupils and stakeholders of Ahmadiyya Muslims Secondary School during a vibrant ceremony held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

The newly constructed structure is more than just classrooms, it features a spacious principal’s office, a well-equipped library with essential books and computers, a WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facility, and a backup generator to ensure uninterrupted learning.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Nabeela Tunis, Founder of the One Love Salone Foundation, emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bio’s vision of delivering accessible and quality education nationwide. She reiterated that the Foundation was born out of a desire to spread love, foster peace, and drive sustainable development across Sierra Leone.

Mrs. Tunis also underscored the deep connection between education and socioeconomic progress, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to supporting the government’s flagship education agenda.

 

The ceremony drew praise from several dignitaries, including Paramount Chief PC Saffa Munya Jumble Tamu III and the Amir of the Ahmadiyya Mission, Lawyer Musa Mewa, who commended the philanthropic efforts of Mrs. Tunis and her husband. They pledged that the facility would be used effectively and called on the couple to continue their humanitarian work, recognizing the lasting legacy they are building

Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Mohamed Sidie Tunis, Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament and husband to Mrs. Tunis encouraged students and teachers to make full use of the new facility. He noted, “This is not the first time my wife has brought development to the people,” referencing previous interventions such as solar-powered boreholes and microcredit support for women in Sorogbema and Makpele Chiefdoms.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to teachers, students, and community members who played a role in the successful completion of the project.
